  9. When Coltrane's reaching for the spiritual, I feel it plays best when he also reaches for the soprano (c.f. "My Favorite Things"). This can also be seen in the album's third track, the more contemplative "The Promise". In the between the two, we get the palate cleansing "I Want to Talk About You", played on the tenor in standard Coltrane mode.
